The TCRWP has found that one of the most powerful ways to develop expertise is to bring dedicated people together in a long-lasting study group. The organization supports more than 40 study groups each semester.
Leadership Groups support participating teachers as they become teacher-leaders who pursue serious classroom-based inquiry on issues related to literacy instruction.

Designed to support Literacy Coaches in learning to do the same staff development that the Project's staff provides, the Coaching Groups are small, intensive courses of study which meet one full day a week across the year. These groups meet on site in New York City schools.

Principals and Superintendents of the 175 schools that work most closely with the Project gather once a month for an intensive day of Principal study groups. Assistant Principals are invited to study groups in small groups that meet in a New York City school.
